Like Berserkers, the Guardian class is regarded as part of the Fighter or Warrior archetype. Guardians are the warriors by heart and are the classic, pure fighter who extremely specialize in protecting their party members from danger or death by becoming the target of the enemy's attack instead.

As a great and intrepid fighter in Everquest 2, Guardians heavily rely on their exertion of heavy armor consisting of plate and vanguard. This class can use all types of weapons except hand-to-hand and have the abilities to use ranged weapons such as bow and sachels. All kinds of shields like buckler, kite, tower are available to them and they can also perform as a great tank for their group.
