Freeport is one of the two starting cities in Everquest 2. This well-known city is commonly called an "evil side", while the other city is Qeynos, which is considered as a "good and neutral sides". The ultimate ruler of this reputable city is the Overlord named Lucan D'Lere.

This city is comprised of a large number of "villages" in which there are various types of greater races living in this so-called good city. Big Bend for Ogres and Trolls, Stonestair Byway for Erudites and Kerrans, Stonestair Byway for Erudites and Kerrans, Temple Street for Gnomes and Ratonga, Beggar's Court for Humans and Half Elves, Longshadow Alley for Dark Elves and finally, Scale Yard for Barbarians and Iksar.
